Defend or Refute the following statement:
"John Adams' Presidency has been under appreciated by most historians".
The purpose of this blog is to provide students, teachers, and other visitors to have an open, and honest, dialogue about events, places, and people that have helped shape the United States of America.
John Adams Presidency has rather been truly over-praised by historians. This is for the reason that John Adams brought the United States Federal government to be an unbalanced and tyrannical power over citizens who desired to carry on the 'Spirit of the American Revolution.' The reason why this is true is because John Adams, during his presidency, caused the rapid suppression of Fries's Rebellion in the summer of 1798. He convicted 20 leaders of the rebellion on the accusation that they were 'traitors to our country.' It was a harsh and utter suppressive move that reflects his interests in more of a Federalist supreme government instead of a democratic- republic that many of the U.S. citizens desired.
